How the FluideMinds Campus Summit Is Shaping the Future of Work for Nigerian Students

FluideMinds Campus Summit, University of Abuja

FluideMinds, a visionary youth empowerment initiative of the FutureUp Empowerment Foundation, successfully hosted its inaugural “Adapt & Thrive” Campus Summit at the University of Abuja on July 3, 2025. With over 230 students in attendance, the event surpassed registration expectations and marked a major milestone in FluideMinds’ mission to equip young Nigerians with the skills, mindset, and tools needed to thrive in the fast-evolving digital economy. Purpose of the Summit The “Adapt & Thrive” Campus Summit was designed to challenge and inspire Nigerian students to take charge of their futures by embracing technology-driven, sustainable career paths. FluideMinds recognizes a hard truth: a degree alone is no longer enough. To succeed in today’s world, youth must build adaptability, resilience, and a lifelong commitment to learning. At a time when youth unemployment remains a critical concern—especially across Africa—the summit tackled this issue head-on, offering students not just inspiration but practical solutions.  Instead of traditional lectures, the event created a vibrant, interactive platform where students could learn from industry leaders, explore career pathways, and connect to future-forward opportunities. Key Highlights Our goal was to spark a realization that a degree is a starting point, not a destination. The energy in that hall confirmed our belief: Nigerian youth are ready and eager to develop the adaptive skills needed to thrive,” — Destiny Ajakaiye, Founder of FluideMinds, during his keynote, “Your Degree Is Not Enough.” He continued, The new currency in the world of work is not your static certificate, but your dynamic ability to adapt. Your superpower is not in what you know, but how you learn. The summit featured a powerful lineup of speakers and panellists who shared real-world strategies for navigating the digital era: During the main panel session, students were exposed to practical frameworks for thriving in the AI age, from upskilling and storytelling to digital entrepreneurship and mindset transformation. Voices from the Students One student shared: I finally thought about how to make money and realized it’s possible, especially with how social media and technology are changing the world. Today’s FluideMinds program reminded me of this. Thanks to Mr. Charles and the other speakers, I’m excited to start using my creativity to earn, even as a teenager. Real Impact, Real Results Hosted by Ataneh Peculiar, podcaster and founder of TalkWithPecs, the event wrapped up with a clear message: this is only the beginning. Fluideminds Honoured For Empowering Girls In Tech Through The WeTechHer Fellowship

We are thrilled to share an inspiring milestone with you! FluideMinds has been proudly awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the Lola Cater Foundation (LC4NF) for our valued partnership and contribution to the WeTechHer Fellowship, a month-long virtual nationwide digital empowerment program that equipped girls aged 8 — 18 with vital tech skills and confidence to thrive in today’s digital world. About the WeTechHer Fellowship The WeTechHer Fellowship is a transformative initiative designed to close the gender gap in technology by creating safe learning spaces for young girls to explore, experiment, and build digital skills early. Over four impactful weeks, participants engaged in practical sessions on foundational tech topics, coding exercises, and creative digital projects, all guided by facilitators and mentors who encouraged curiosity and nurtured each girl’s confidence to pursue opportunities in the ever-evolving tech landscape. FluideMinds’ Role: Facilitating the Web Development Track At FluideMinds, our mission has always been to help young people unlock their potential through practical, future-ready learning. As part of the WeTechHer Fellowship, our team led the Web Development track, introducing the girls to the world of building and designing for the web. Through interactive lessons, live coding demonstrations, and hands-on practice, our facilitator, who is also the founder of FluideMinds (An initiative of FutureUp Empowerment Foundation), Mr. Destiny Ajakaiye, empowered the girls to create their first websites and understand the building blocks of the internet. More importantly, Destiny Ajakaiye’s sessions were filled with encouragement and relatable stories that inspired participants to believe in their abilities, embrace problem-solving, and dream bigger in the digital age. Celebrating Recognition and Impact We are humbled and honoured to receive this recognition from the Lola Cater Foundation. In addition to the certificate presented to FluideMinds for our partnership, Mr. Destiny Ajakaiye was specially recognized for his outstanding facilitation and dedication to the success of the fellowship.
